The K2055 is one of the first CAT IV clamp meter manufactured to meet the demands for measuring voltage and current spikes. As electrical distribution systems become more complex, the chances of voltage spikes are always increasing, and these spikes are superimposed to normal mains voltage waveform. If the instrument is not purposely designed to withstand these high voltage spikes, it will blow and a potential arc blast can create a life threatening situation for the end user.
This clamp meter has a 6039 count display with a bargraph and a backlight, and measures AC and DC voltage, resistance, frequency measurement with duty cycle, plus a diode test and continuity buzzer. Other features include MIN/MAX recording, Data Hold and a Non-Contact voltage indicator. This meter has a rubberized double moulding giving the user a comfortable grip in the palm.
The K2055 is a True RMS clamp meter measuring AC Current and DC Current up to 1000 Amps on a maximum conductor size of 40mm. This meter has the added measuring capabilities of Capacitance to 4000µF, Temperature in °C or °F from -50°C up to 700°C, thus eliminating the user to carry around extra instruments to measure capacitance and temperature. The Peak Hold function on the K2055 enables Peak value measurement of inrush current on the AC Current range.
