Overview

The 5A MPPT Solar Panel Charging Module with Display has a variety of applications including a DIY voltage regulator, charging module for a variety of batteries, step down convertor and power supply for electronic devices.
Note: Detection module, please do not directly connect the output of negative electrode and the input of negative electrode. use a diode between the battery and the board

    • Typical Voltage: 3.7V nominal (4.2V fully charged)
    • Configuration Example:
    • 1S (4.2V), 2S (8.4V), 3S (12.6V), etc.
      • Charging Method: CC-CV is ideal
    • ✅ Yes, fully compatible (with voltage carefully set per cell count)
  • LiFePO₄ (Lithium Iron Phosphate)
    • Typical Voltage: 3.2V nominal (3.65V full)
    • Configuration Example:
      • 1S (3.65V), 4S (14.6V), etc.
    • Charging Method: CC-CV, but lower voltage than Li-ion
    • ✅ Yes, just set voltage to 3.65V per cell
  • 3. Lead-Acid (SLA, AGM, Gel)
    • Typical Voltage: 6V, 12V, 24V
    • Charging Method: CC-CV is suitable
  • ✅ Yes, set voltage accordingly (e.g., 13.8–14.4V for 12V battery)
  • NiMH / NiCd

❌ Not recommended: These require pulse or delta-V detection, not CC/CV. You could trickle-charge them, but it's inefficient and risks damaging the cells.

⚠️ Important Usage Notes

  • Always use a battery management system (BMS), especially with Li-ion or LiFePO₄ packs.
  • Set the voltage limit exactly to prevent overcharging (e.g., 12.6V for 3S Li-ion).
  • Set a safe current level — typically 0.5C to 1C of battery capacity. For example:
  • A 2000mAh (2Ah) battery: max safe charging current = 1A–2A

  • Output anti-anti-irrigation protection: no, the output must be connected to the battery plus blocking diode, otherwise it will burn the module!
  • Charging indicator: charging red, bright green when fully charged. Turn lamp is the output current detection.
